I can develop and maintain analysis tools for individual spacecraft or a fleet of vehicles. I specialize in Python and MATLAB, but can tailor the tools to your needs.
I have extensive experience with multiple spacecraft subsystems:
Propulsion · Mechanisms · Attitude Determination and Control · Thermal
I can create and/or provide review for new and existing procedures written in-house or by your spacecraft manufacturers
I can help start or recover your new or ongoing projects. My expertise in MS Project and project management techniques will keep you project on-schedule and on-cost
I can provide anomaly support and review. For long-term anomalies I can provide real-time monitoring when your team cannot.
I can work with you to attend and provide feedback during spacecraft and unit level design reviews.
Trending Tools
Jump-start or bolster your existing spacecraft trending. I can build monitoring and analysis tools to help you meet manufacturer recommended requirements. Engineers should spend less time gathering and fighting data and more time analyzing. I build custom tools with ease-of-use and automation in mind, meaning your team can get right to the work that matters.
- Using Python and MATLAB, I will:
- Develop new software
- Update/Maintain existing software
- Derive software requirements based on manufacturer documentation
Subsystem Review
I have extensive experience working across multiple spacecraft subsystems, ensuring cohesive functionality between subsystems when changes are made to a single subsystem. I can help support individual or multiple subsystems for your program, providing analysis, review, documentation support, and other services.
- Subsystems I am experienced with include (but are not limited to):
- Propulsion
- Bi-prop and Electric Thrusters
- Thruster Performance
- Fuel Use
- Tank Pressure
- Mechanisms
- DAPM stepcount analysis
- Reflector Adjustments
- Solar Array Optimization
- Attitude Determination and Control
- Momentum
- Reaction/Momentum Wheels
- Star Trackers
- Earth Sensors
- Sun Sensors
- Pointing Analysis
- Gyroscopes/Rate-Sensors
- Ephemeris
- Thermal
- Heater Management
- Seasonal Temperature Analysis

Procedure Review
My experience in Spacecraft Operations has required me to learn how to not only write procedures that leave little room for interpretation, but also how to convert ambiguous manufacturer documentation and customer requests into usable ground and spacecraft procedures. Whether you need someone to review your existing procedures, interpret external procedures, or develop new procedures based on limited documentation, Clarke-Engineering can help.

- EPOCH Command & Control (ARES programming language)
Technical Project Management
Interdependencies between subsystems and departments can make small and large spacecraft projects difficult to track and manage. I have a proven track record in managing complex spacecraft operations projects, not only keeping the project on schedule but also understanding and providing important technical feedback throughout.

Anomaly Response
Spacecraft are built to operate themselves, but there are times where automated responses are not enough to keep a spacecraft operating nominally. In those cases, a quick response is required to keep the satellite safe, followed by a measured clean-up campaign. I have supported numerous spacecraft anomalies, including attitude hardware failures and processor hiccups. I can support calls with manufacturers, aide in the documentation review following the anomaly, and even remotely monitor your spacecraft while your engineers get rest and work on more recovery actions.

Design Reviews
New spacecraft require a litany of design reviews starting before the Prelimary Design Review though Mission readiness reviews and beyond. I have experience in interfacing with manufacturers through every portion of a spacecraft buildout. If your team cannot spare the additional manpower or needs dedicated subsystem review support, Clarke-Engineering can help. We can attend the reviews, either remotely or in-person, and provide expert level feedback to the manufacturers during the reviews while summarizing the manufacturer progress to you as frequently as desired.
